Sometimes penance is a form of prayer

(“The Party)Prayer can take on many forms. What is an hour with God? I recently got a HUGE ticket that I never paid and it became very expensive. So, although the club does not do birthday parties for the kids anymore, I agreed to do one to make my wife happy, to offset the cost. It was filled with the brattiest kids I have ever seen in my life, and it was the longest hour of any human’s in history. The agony in the garden was nothing compared to this. Then on top of it, the parents complained that I was too strict – no wonder their kids were all such brats. Penance and humility….
